The
Packers picked up a 34-14 preseason win over Kansas City last night at Lambeau.  No questions were answered in the battle for
backup quarterback as both Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien played well.  Flynn went 7 of 15 for 102 yards and 2
TDs.  Tolzien was 12 of 18 for 139 yards
and a pair of scores.  Final cuts are due
by 3pm on Saturday.

 

The
Wisconsin Badgers will open the season against LSU on Saturday night in Houston.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 6pm with the kickoff set
for 8pm.

 

The
college football season got going last night with a full schedule of
games.  In the top 25, #21 Texas A&M routed #9 South Carolina 52-28.  #18 Ole Miss beat Boise
State 35-13 and #19 Arizona State dumped Weber State 45-14.

 

The
Brewers open up a three game series in San
Francisco
tonight.  
Milwaukee is clinging to a 1.5 game lead
over St. Louis and a 4 game cushion over Pittsburgh in the
National League Central. Wily Peralta takes on Ryan Vogelsong.  The first pitch is set for 9:15pm.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Fame Night at Fruth. It’s Hall of Fame Night.

St. Mary’s Springs girls volleyball team went 2-2-2 at the Sheboygan South
Invite with wins over Wisconsin Rapids
and Brown Deer.

 

Campbellsport
boys placed 6th at the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Cross Country Invite last
night.  Casey Ruplinger (15th) and Levi Feucht (20th) earned medals. 
Chase Lindgren was 22nd.  The Cougar girls did not have a complete varsity
team for the meet.   Our top runner was Toni Hundertmark in 25th
place.
