The Wisconsin Badgers open up training camp today in Madison.  New head coach Gary Andersen will have a three way battle for the starting quarterback spot as Curt Phillips, Joel Stave, and transfer Tanner McEvoy will get a shot at winning the starting job.  The Badgers open the season on August 31st against U-Mass.  Your home for Badger football is News-Talk 1450 KFIZ

 

Packers Under Lights

The Packers practice under the lights tonight for the first team.  Mike McCarthy has scheduled a 7pm workout as the team gets ready for Saturday’s Family Night Scrimmage.  The workout will be open to the public.  The preseason opener is next Friday when they host Arizona. You’ll hear it on KFIZ.

 

NFL Hall of Fame

Former Packer Dave Robison is among 8 players being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend.  Joining Robinson at the induction will be; Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Jonathan Ogden, Bill Parcells, Warren Sapp, and Curley Lambeau.  The Hall of Fame Game is Sunday night as Dallas takes on Miami.  Coverage begins at 6:30pm on KFIZ.

 

Brewers Host Nationals

The Brewers open up a three game series with Washington tonight at Miller Park.  Tom Gorzelanny starts for Milwaukee while Wisconsin native Jordan Zimmerman takes the will for the Nats.  Coverage begins at 6:50pm with the first pitch set for 7:25pm.  There is a late start tonight because before the game they will honor Hall of Famer Robin Yount who retired 20 years ago.
