Andersen Hired!

Gary Andersen has been officially hired as the new head coach at the University of Wisconsin.  Athletic Director Barry Alavarez made that announcement via press release on Thursday night.  Andersen led Utah State to an 11-2 season and a win in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl over Toledo.  In four years he turned around one of the worst programs in college football.  Before that he was a defensive coordinator at Utah, when they went to multiple BCS games.  Anderson will meet the media at a 10am press conference on Friday morning.  You’ll hear that on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Packers Ready For Titans

The Packers host Tennessee in their final regular season game at Lambeau Field this season.  With two weeks to play the Packers still have something to play for.  If they win this weekend and next weekend and San Francisco loses one time, Green Bay will get the #2 seed and first round bye in the playoffs.  Sunday’s game kicks off at 12noon.  The pregame begins at 10am on KFIZ.

Brewers Add Reliever

The Brewers signed lefty Tom Gorzelanny to a 2-year contract worth $6 million dollars.  Last year with Washington he went 4-2 with a 2.88 ERA.  He had 62 strikeouts and gave up 7 homers.  Gorzelanny will be a new piece to a bullpen that GM Doug Melvin tries to rebuild for 2013 after a shaky 2012 season.
