The Milwaukee Bucks made a
big trade deadline deal on Thursday, sending leading scorer Brandon Knight to
the Phoenix Suns as part of a three team deal. 
The Bucks end up with last year’s rookie of the year, Michael Carter-Williams,
Miles Plumlee, and Tyler Enis. The Bucks open up their post All-Star Game
schedule tonight as they host Denver tonight at
the BMO Harris Bradley
Center
.  The tip is set for 7:30pm.  We’ll join that game in progress tonight
after Fondy basketball on KFIZ.

 

UW-Milwaukee beat UIC 71-60.
Steve McWhorter had 21.  The Panthers
host Cleveland State on Sunday afternoon.

The Marian men’s basketball
team heads to #1 seed Aurora
on Saturday for the first round of the NACC Tournament.  The Sabres have dropped five of their last
seven games by 3 points or less but were still able to earn the 8th
and final playoff seed in the conference tournament with a 10-10 record and
11-14 overall mark.  Aurora tied Benedictine for the league
championship at 15-5 in league play. 
They are 18-7 overall.  Aurora swept the season series between the two teams,
taking the game at Marian on January 17th 65-62 and winning at Aurora 80-78 on February 7th.  Saturday’s tip at Aurora is set for 2pm.  The NACC Semifinals are on Wednesday.  We’ll hear from coach Mark Boyle later this
morning at 8:50am on KFIZ.

Jimmie Johnson won the Budweiser Twin Duels in preparation for Sunday’s Daytona
500.

 

The St.
Mary’s Springs hockey team rallied by Brookfield 4-3 in overtime to advance to
the WIAA Sectional Semifinals on Thursday night at the Blue Line. Anthony Grebe
had a pair of goals and Mark Austin tied it at 3-3 at the 16:05 mark of the 3rd
period.  Conner Blank kept the season
alive with an OT goal.  The Ledgers will
play either U-School or Sheboygan
on Tuesday night in a Sectional Semifinal. 
Those two teams play tonight.

 

The Fond
du Lac
hockey team advanced to the Sectional Semifinal with a 3-0
win over Homestead
on Thursday night at the Blue Line. Henry Lange, Noah Wilson and Caylen Dyni
scored the Fondy goals.  The Cardinals
will play either Cedarburg or Arrowhead on Tuesday night.  Those two teams will play tonight.

 

The Fondy-Waupun girls hockey
team lost their playoff opener 5-4 in overtime at Waupaca in Thursday
night.  Callie Tighe had a pair of goals
for the Warbirds.

 

The St.
Mary’s Springs girls basketball team can grab a share of the Flyway Conference
championship tonight as they host league leader Kettle Moraine Lutheran.  KML is 13-0 in the Flyway while the Ledgers
are 12-1.  St.
Mary’s Springs’ only league loss was at KML 42-40 back on January 20th.  The tip tonight is set for right around
7:30pm.  Ledger coach Mitch Redig joins
me at 8:20am this morning to preview the game.
