Brewers Win Cactus League Opener

Ryan Braun hit a two-run homer in his first Spring Training at-bat as the Brewers cruised by Oakland 11-3 on Thursday.  Juan Francisco also hit a pair of solo homers in the win. Marco Estrada gave up two earned runs in two innings to notch the win.  Wily Peralta also pitched two scoreless innings for Milwaukee.  Yovani Gallardo gets the start today for the Brewers as they take on the Giants.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 1:55pm with the first pitch at 2:05pm.

Fond du Lac senior Michael Wilson will make his junior hockey debut this weekend with the Omaha Lancers of the USHL.  Wilson was drafted by Omaha last year and remained their property.  After Fondy got knocked out of the playoffs last week, the organization called and he will be with the team this weekend during their series in Green Bay against the Gamblers.

 

The WIAA boys basketball tournament continues tonight with Regional Semifinal action.  St. Mary’s Springs hosts Howards Grove in a Division Four matchup.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  It streams at kfiz.com and you can listen to it on your mobile device via Tune-In Radio.  Ledger basketball is presented by BCI Burke Company and the playoffs are brought to you by Taco Bell.
