The Brewers are on the verge of adding some depth to their
pitching staff.  Reports say the team is
ready to sign Matt Garza to a 4-year deal worth $52 million dollars.  As media outlets reported the deal yesterday,
the Brewers released a statement saying they were in negotiations but the deal
is not done.  He went 10-6 with a 3.82
ERA with the Cubs and Rangers.  His
career record is 67-67 with a 3.84 ERA in eight seasons.

The Badger men’s basketball team will try and snap a three

The
St. Mary’s Springs hockey team rallied for a 4-1 win over Beaver Dam on
Thursday night at the Blueline
Family Ice
Center
.  The Ledgers
fell behind 1-0 with 11:40 left in the first period when Colton Anderson scored
an unassisted goal.  That lead held up for the Golden Beavers through 2
periods and then the floodgates opened for SMSA.  Jackson Voight got the
Ledgers going with an unassisted goal from the blue line with 13:12 left in
regulation to tie it at 1-1.  At the 11:46 mark, Anthony Grebe scored a
power play goal on a rebound to give St. Mary’s Springs lead.  Conner
Blank and Voight got assists.  With 7:05 left, Grebe scored another power
play goal from Blank and Voight to make it 3-1.  Mark Austin put the game
away with a goal with 4:51 left on a great pass from Blank.  The Ledgers
outshot Beaver Dam 43-7 on the night.  SMSA improves to 9-7 overall and
4-2 in Badgerland Conference play.  Beaver Dam drops to 3-9-2 overall and
1-5 in the league.  Springs hosts Neenah
on Saturday.  It’s Senior Night and the puck drops at 1pm.
