Lucroy’s two run homer in the 13th highlighted a four run inning as
the Brewers stopped the Mets 5-1 on Thursday night.  Zach Duke picked up the win by pitching a
scoreless 12th.  Kyle Lohse
gave up just 1 run and four hits in 8 innings last night.  Aramis Ramirez also went deep for the Crew.
The Brewers finish up the 8 game road trip at 5-3. They open up a three game
set against the Reds tonight at Miller

The Packers
signed their final two draft picks on Thursday, inking 2nd round WR
Davante Adams and 3rd round TE Richard Rodgers.  The Packers open up a mandatory mini-camp on


After one round
at Pinehurst #2, Martin Kaymer has a three shot lead at the U.S. Open.  His -5, 65 is clear of Kevin Na, Fred Quinn,
Graeme McDowell, and Brendon de Jonge.  Wisconsin native’s Steve Stricker and Mark Wilson, along
with Phil Mickelson are all five shots back at even par. 


Brazil rallied to win the World Cup opener over Croatia on
Thursday 3-1.


A pair of area softball
teams will be taking the field in the WIAA State Softball Tournament today in Madison.  Oakfield will battle Wisconsin Rapids
Assumption in a Division Four State Semifinal this morning at 9am.   Laconia
will play Mishicot at 1:30pm in a Division Three Semifinal.  The championship games are set for Saturday.


WIAA Girls Soccer

The New Holstein girls
soccer team advanced to the Division Four Sectional Final with a 4-0 win over Sturgeon Bay on Thursday night.  The Huskies will host Howards Grove on
Saturday at 4pm in the Sectional Final with a trip to state on the line.
