Favre Continues To Mend Fences

Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre again went on a national stage to took the blame for leaving the Packers in “limbo” during his messy 2008 departure from the team.  Favre told Sirius XM NFL that he should have never told them he was going to retire right after the 2007 season.  He wanted to wait until just before training camp and now he knows the Packers couldn’t wait that long.  He also said that he had his best 16 years in Green Bay and he expects Aaron Rodgers to break all of his records expect the consecutive games streak.

 

Brewers At Reds

The Brewers open up a three game weekend series in Cincinnati tonight.  The Crew has won five of their last six games heading into tonight.  Ryan Braun is expected to be back in the lineup after sitting out the entire series in Miami with a sore thumb.  Kyle Lohse takes on Bronson Arroyo.  Coverage begins at 5:35pm on KFIZ.

NBA Finals

It’s looking like the NBA Finals could be a seven game series.  The Miami Heat evened the series up at 2-2 with a 109-93 win in San Antonio last night. The Big Three came to play as LeBron James had 33 points and 11 rebounds, Chris Bosh 20 points and 11 rebounds and Dwyane Wade 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.  Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 20.  Game 5 is Sunday in San Antonio.

 

US Open

Rain delayed the first round of the U.S. Open a couple of times on Thursday.  They are finishing the first round this morning.  Phil Mickelson was the clubhouse leader with a 3-under par 67.  Luke Donald was a shot better then “Lefty” when play was halted last night.  Madison’s Jerry Kelly doubled bogeyed the 18th and finished at even par.  Steve Stricker was +1. Tiger Woods was two over par through 10 when play stopped last night.

 

Racing At Milwaukee Mile

The IndyCar Series stops in Milwaukee this weekend for IndyFest.  The 250 lap featured race at the Milwaukee Mile will start at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.

WBCA All-Star Games

The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association will have their boys and girls all-star games today and Saturday in the Wisconsin Dells.  Fond du Lac’s Taylor Penning will play for the North squad in the Division One girls game today.  Oshkosh West head girls coach Nikki Sutter and her coaching staff will lead the North team.  North Fond du Lac’s Nicole Seidl will play for the South in Division Three.  For the boys, Laconia’s Tyler Semenas will suit up for the South in Division Four on Saturday.
