Cuba City ended
the St. Mary’s Springs girls basketball team’s season 62-56 at the WIAA
Division 4 State Semifinals at the Resch
Center in Green Bay on Thursday.  The Ledgers led 2-0 but never led the rest of
the way as the defending champion Cuban held off every Ledger run.  Kelli Schrauth led St. Mary’s Springs with 25
points and 12 rebounds.  Liz Bohn added
13.  The Ledgers season ends at 24-7

St. Mary’s Springs senior
forward Conner Blank has been named the Badgerland Hockey Conference Player of
the Year.  Blank scored 41 goals and
dished out 35 assists as the Ledgers finished 3rd in the Badgerland
Conference standings.  Fond du Lac senior forward Jack Nejedlo also
makes the 1st Team.  Sophomore
defenseman Noah Wilson and junior goalie William Shober get 2nd Team
recognition for Fond du Lac.
Waupun senior defenseman Adrian Harmsen is also a 2nd Team pick.   St. Mary’s Springs senior forward Anthony
Grebe, Fond du Lac
junior forward Caylin Dyni, Waupun junior forward Brady Beekman, and Waupun senior
defenseman Spencer Beck all get Honorable Mention nods.

 

The Pacers beat the Bucks
109-103 at Indy on Thursday night. Michael Carter-Williams scored 28 for the
Bucks.  Milwaukee
will travel to Memphis
on Saturday night. You’ll hear that game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

had 11 and Luke Fischer 10 in the loss. 
The Golden Eagles’ season ends at 13-19.

 

The Badger men’s basketball
team opens up Big Ten Tournament play this morning with a quarterfinal matchup
with Michigan.   Coverage begins on KFIZ at 10am this morning
with the tip set for 11am in Chicago.

 

The Cardinal Stritch men’s
basketball team will face 4th seeded College
of Idaho tonight in the 2nd
round of the NAIA Division II National Tournament in Branson, Missouri.  The Wolves stopped College of the Ozarks
78-69 in the 1st round on Wednesday night.  Stritch is coached by Fondy native Drew
Diener and Fond du Lac High grad Tony Smit and Laconia’s Tyler Semenas
play on the team. The tip is set for 7:30pm tonight.

 

Aramis Ramirez drove in a
pair as the Brewers beat the Rockies 5-3 in
Cactus League play on Tuesday. Wily Peralta allowed hit in three scoreless
innings of work.  The Crew faces the
Mariners this afternoon.  There’s no
radio coverage on the network.  The first
pitch is set for 3:05pm.

 

The Philadelphia Eagles made
one of the biggest splashes in NFL free agency by signing running back DeMarco
Murray to a 5-year, $42 million dollar contract.  Murray led the
NFL in rushing last season 1845 yards and 13 TDs in Dallas.

 

Bethany Lutheran out of Minnesota swept the Marian baseball team 12-7 and 9-3 in
their season opening double header on Thursday in Tucson, Arizona.  The Sabres will play Northern
State out of South Dakota today.
