The St. Mary’s Springs Academy girls basketball team advanced
to the Sectional Final with a 65-50 win over Oshkosh Lourdes in the Division
Four Sectional Semifinal at Oshkosh North on Thursday night.  Lourdes
led a back and fourth game 33-32 at the half before junior Kelli Schrauth
scored 9 of her game high 19 in the 3rd quarter to give Springs a
44-40 lead going to the 4thLourdes went cold in the
4th quarter and the Ledgers made 10 of 13 free throws to pull away
to the 15 point win. Along with Schrauth’s 19, Liz Bohn added 15, Mealane
Schneider 14, and Destiny Ottery 10 to pace SMSA.   St. Mary’s Springs (21-3) will face
Whitefish Bay Dominican (16-9) on Saturday in the Sectional Final at
Oconomowoc.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk

Waupun’s season came to an end last night
in West Bend
with a 51-38 loss to Oostburg in the Division Three Sectional.  The Warriors season finishes up 17-8.

 

The Fox Valley Association has released its
All-Conference Wrestling Team. On the 2nd team all-league were
sophomore Josh Adams at 132 and junior Jason Toshner at 195.  Freshman Donte Johnson is Honorable Mention
All-FVA at 285. 

 

The All-FVA Boys Swimming and Diving Team has also
been released.  Fondy senior Cameron Van
Beek was Honorable Mention in the 200 Free and 500 Free.  Junior Reilly Pankratz was Honorable Mention
in the 100 Back.

 

Xaiver beat Marquette
68-65 at the Big East Tournament last night. 
The Golden Eagles will be headed to The NIT.

 

The Badgers will get their Big Ten Tournament going
tonight as they face Minnesota in the
quarterfinals at Indianapolis.
 The Gophers beat Penn State
63-56.  Coverage begins at 4:30pm with
the tip set for 5:30pm on KFIZ.


Cardinal Stritch will face Southeastern
Florida this afternoon in the 2nd round of the NAIA Division Two
National Tournament in Branson,
Missouri
.  Drew Diener’s squad will tip it off at
1:45pm.

 

The Bucks lost to the Hawks 102-97.  Ersan Ilyasova had 22 pts, and 10 rebounds

 

The Brewers blanked the Padres 8-0 in
Cactus League play on Thursday.  Marco
Estrada gave up just 5 hits in five and two-thirds scoreless innings.  The Brewers play Arizona this afternoon.  There is no radio broadcast of today’s game.
