The Brewers picked up a pair
of wins to open their Cactus League schedule on Thursday.  In Scottsdale,
Chris Carter took Jake Peavy deep for a 2-run homer as Milwaukee beat the Giants 8-7.  In Maryvale, Chase Anderson struck out a pair
in two scoreless innings and Jonathan Lucroy drove in a run as Milwaukee beat the Cubs 2-1.  The Crew takes on Seattle this afternoon with Wily Peralta
getting the start.  Our next radio
broadcast on KFIZ is Saturday when the Brewers play Oakland
That’s a 1:55pm pregame and 2:05pm first pitch on KFIZ.

 

The Bucks jump back into
action tonight as they host Minnesota.  The tip is set for 7pm.  We’ll join that game in progress after Fondy
basketball on KFIZ.

 

The Horizon League Men’s
Basketball Tournament gets going on Saturday in Detroit
Green Bay has the #4 seed and will take
on 9th seeded Cleveland
State
at 11am tomorrow
morning.  5th seed Milwaukee takes on 8 seed Northern
Kentucky
about 1:30pm.  The
league championship game is Tuesday night. 

 

Marquette goes to Butler
on Saturday in their regular season finale. 
The Big East Tournament on Wednesday at Madison Square
Garden
.  

 

The Badgers wrap up regular
season play on Sunday night at Purdue. 
You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ. 
Coverage begins at 5:30pm with the tip set for 6:30pm.  The Big Ten Tournament gets going on

Meet gets going today in Wisconsin
Rapids
.  Waupun
has qualified for the Division Two event for the 1st time in school
history.

 

WIAA Girls Sectional

The Waupun girls basketball
team advanced to the WIAA Division Three Sectional Final with a 69-50 win over Laconia on Thursday night
in Beaver Dam.  The Warriors jumped out
to a 10-0 lead but then saw Laconia go on a 17-1 run to take a 17-11 lead.  Waupun regrouped to take a 29-24 lead at the
break and never looked back in the 2nd half.  Sydney Flier led Waupun (18-7) with 20
points.  Kiarro Otto and Caitlyn Tipton
paced Laconia
(17-8) with 12 each.  Waupun will face
Milwaukee School of Languages on Saturday afternoon at 1pm at Waukesha South.
