Jonathan Lucroy’s RBI single in the first scored Jean Segura and that was it for the Brewers offense as they lose to the Pirates 7-1 last night in Pittsburgh.  Hiram Burgos takes the loss giving up 3 runs in 5 innings.  Alfredo Figaro gave up 4 runs in just one third of an inning in the 6th.   Wily Peralta takes on Jamie Garcia as the Brewers open up a three game set in St. Louis tonight.  Coverage begins at 6:40pm on KFIZ.

Tickle Commits Suicide

Wisconsin racing legend Dick Trickle committed suicide at a cemetery in North Carolina.  The Wisconsin native dominated short tracks in Wisconsin and across the nation winning more than 1000 times and then became a cult hero when ESPN SportsCenter anchors took a liking to him in the late 80s.  The Wisconsin Rapids native was 71.

Boys Golf – EWC Conference

Sheboygan Falls won the ECW Conference meet at Whispering Springs.  Campbellsport was 2nd.  New Holstein was 5th & Waupun was 7th.  Logan Eisch had a 77 for C-Sport.  George Lemmenes led Waupun with an 89.

 

Boys Golf – Flyway Conference

St. Mary’s Springs won the Flyway Conference Meet at Lawsonia.  Nate Strigenz won the meet with a 75.  WLA’s Chris Colla and St. Mary’s Springs Pat Treichel were tied for 2nd with 78s.  Strigenz and Colla were co-players of the year.
