Brewers Fall to Dodgers

Milwaukee couldn’t close out the series sweep against the visiting Dodgers as Los Angeles took game three of the series by a 5-1 score. Milwaukee picked up a run in the first inning when Ryan Braun brought home Carlos Gomez, but they wouldn’t reach home plate the rest of the game. Jimmy Nelson went six innings on the bump for the Crew, giving up three earned across eight hits. Clayton Kershaw was too good for the Dodgers, striking out six and giving up just the opening run.

The Brewers sit at 65-53 on the season after what was an impressive homestand, taking 4 of 6 from the Dodgers and Giants, the two teams battling at the top of the NL West. Next up for Milwaukee is a four game set against the Cubs in Wrigley and then a quick rematch road trip against the Dodgers. Monday night it will be Yovani Gallardo against Jake Arrieta. Our coverage on KFIZ will begin at 6:35pm.

Other NL Central Scores

Cincinnati 7, Miami 2
St. Louis 8, Baltimore 3
San Diego 8, Pittsburgh 2

Brewers lead the Cardinals (2 games), Pirates (2 1/2 games), and Reds (5 games) for the NL Central lead.
