27-year-old Australian Jason
Day won the PGA Championship on Sunday at Whistling Straits.  Day finished the four day event at 20 under
par.  That is the 1st time a
player has ever finished 20 under par at a major championship.  Day’s final round 67 gave him a three shot
win over Jordan Spieth.  With a 2nd
place finish, Spieth passes Rory McIlroy to become the world’s #1 ranked
player.  Wisconsin
native Steve Stricker finished tied for 30th at -4.

 

Ryan Braun’s 5th
inning grand slam lifted the Brewers to a 6-1 win over the Phillies on Sunday
at Miller Park
The homer by Braun was his 251st career.  That ties Robin Yount for the team
record.  Taylor Jungmann struck out 9 in
six and a third innings to see his record improve to 7-4 on the season. The
Brewers open up a series with the Marlins tonight at Miller Park.

After taking Sunday off the
Packers will get back on the practice field today with a 12:15pm workout.  The Packers 2nd preseason game is

East Shore League

Forest won the 2nd half of the East Shore League baseball
season with a 9-5 win over Johnsburg on Sunday. 
Forest was 6-1 in the 2nd half
of the season and will not face 1st half winner Cleveland in a best
of 3 game series.  Game 1 is next Sunday
at 1pm in Cleveland.
