The Brewers picked up a 4-1
win over the Reds on Sunday afternoon at Miller Park.  Ryan Braun clubbed his 24th homer
of the season in the win  Wily Peralta
notched the victory, giving up 7 hits and 1 run in seven innings.  Francisco Rodriguez picked up save #31.  The Brewers open up a three game set with Pittsburgh on Tuesday night at Miller Park.

 

In the NL Central, the Cubs
Jake Arrieta tossed a no-hitter in a 2-0 shutout of the Dodgers.  It’s the 6th no-hitter of the
season in the Big Leagues, and the 2nd time the Dodgers were no
hit.

The Packers may have avoided
another major injury.  It looks like
Randall Cobb has a sprained AC joint in his shoulder.  Various reports say the injury is minor and his
status for the Packers week one matchup at Chicago on September 13th is still up in the
air.  Green Bay
will wrap up the preseason Thursday night when they host New Orleans.

 

PGA Championship winner Jason
Day won The Barclays to open up the FedEx Cup playoffs.  Day finished the 4-day event at -19 which was
highlighted by a final round 62.  That
was good for a six shot win over Henrik Stenson.  During Sunday’s final round, Brian Harman had
two hole in ones.  He’s just the 3rd
player in PGA Tour history to record a pair of aces in the same round.

 

Japan stopped a team from Pennsylvania
to win the Little League World Series 18-11 on Sunday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

 

Forest evened up the East
Shore League Championship series with an 11-5 win over Cleveland on Sunday afternoon.  Ryan Lloyd and Sam Warner had three hits each
for Forest
