The
Atlanta Hawks took down the Bucks 97-86 at the Bradley Center
on Sunday afternoon. Giannis and Khris Middleton each scored 19 in a losing
effort.  Paul Millsap scored 19 to lead
the Eastern Conference leading Hawks. 
The Bucks travel to Chicago
tonight. The tip is set for 7pm.

 

UW-Milwaukee
took down Cleveland State 66-60 on Sunday in Milwaukee
JJ Panoske made five of nine three-point attempts to finish with a team
high 19 points. Rob Jeter’s squad goes to Wright State
on Thursday night.

 

Joey
Lagano won his 1st Daytona 500 on Sunday afternoon to open up the NASCAR Sprint
Cup season.  Kevin Harvick was 2nd,
and Dale Earnhardt, Junior 3rd
Three Wisconsin drivers were in The
Great American Race.  Necedah’s Johnny
Sauter finished 18th.  Eau Claire’s Paul Menard
takes 27th after getting caught up in a final lap crash.  Cambridge’s
Matt Kenseth was 35th after crashing early.

 

James
Hahn survived a three man playoff to collect his first PGA Tour win at the
Northern Trust Open at Riveira.  Paul
Casey went out on the 2nd playoff hole and then Hahn beat Dustin
Johnson with a birdie on the 3rd extra hole.

 

A
handful of area wrestlers have qualified for the WIAA State Individual
Tournament.  Fond du Lac sends Josh Adams (145), Jason
Toshner (195), and Donte Johnson (285) in Division One. In D2, Campbellsports’ Alex Costello
advanced at 113. Also in D2, Chilton-Hilbert sent Abe Sell (120), Nick Ditter
(132), Austin Keuler (145), and Duncan Calnin (195) to state.  In Division Three, Laconia’s Alex Potter (120), Zach Coffeen (152),
Eli Moses (195), and Zach Foth (113) made it. 
Oakfield’s Ross Ellison also made it at 128.

Springs travels to Rosendale to take on Laconia.  2nd place in the Flyway is on the
line.  Coverage begins at 7:05pm with the
Tim Cruz Agency American Family Insurance Pregame Show.  The tip is set for 7:30pm presented by BCI
Burke Company.

 

Both

have qualified for the WIAA Hockey Sectionals. 
St. Mary’s Springs heads to University
School
on Tuesday
night.  The puck drops at 7:30pm.  Fond du Lac
will travel to the Ozaukee
Ice Center

to take on #1 seed Cedarburg.  That is
set for a 7pm start.  You’ll hear it on
KFIZ.  The winners will play in the
Sectional Final on Saturday at Wilson Park in Milwaukee.
