The WIAA has released the pairings for the state hockey
playoffs. St. Mary’s Springs and
earned first round byes. St. Mary’s
Springs gets a #3 seed and will face either Beaver Dam or
at 5:30pm.
Lac
8pm. Waupun is the #9 seed and opens the
playoffs at #8 seed
on February 17th at 7pm. The
Fondy-Waupun girls hockey team garners a #6 seed and will travel to #3 Waupaca
on February 19th at 7pm.
St. Mary’s
Scott Paveglio was named the Section 8 Assistant Coach of the Year.
The NFL Network is reporting that Packers coach Mike
McCarthy will shake up his coaching staff.
The report stats that McCarthy will promote wide receivers coach Edgar
Bennett to Offensive Coordinator and current OC Tom Clements would be promoted
to assistant head coach and call the players.
There has been no official announcement from the Packers on the changes.
The Bucks host the Brooklyn Nets tonight at the
is 28-23 which is good for 6th place in the Eastern Conference
playoff standings. They are also 3rd
in the NBA’s Central Division, just three games behind leader Chicago. Tonight’s
tip is set for 7pm. Bucks Shots begins
at 6:40pm with Ted Davis.
A college basketball coaching legend passed away over the
weekend. Coach Dean Smith led
Final Fours and 2 national championships during his 36 seasons on the
bench. He retired with a coaching record
of 879-254. He was 83 years old.
Jason Day won a 4-man playoff to take the Farmers Insurance Open
at Torrey Pines on the PGA Tour. Day
outlasted JB Holmes, Scott Stallings, and Harrison English to win.
Golf lost a legend as well this weekend as Billy Casper
passed away on Saturday night. He won
51 times on the PGA Tour and three major championships. He won the 1959 and 1966 U.S. Open and also
the 1970 Masters. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1978
