The Badger men’s basketball
team has reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.  Wisconsin
will play Baylor in the quarterfinals in Anaheim
on Thursday night.  The tip is set for
6:47pm Central.  You’ll hear it on
News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Region has #1 seed Arizona taking on #4 San Diego State
The Midwest Region at Indianapolis has #4
seed Louisville against #8 Kentucky
who knocked out #1 Wichita State, and #2 Michigan
and #11 Tennessee.  The East Region in New
has Iowa State and UConn and Virginia
and Michigan State
The South Region in Memphis will feature Florida against UCLA and Dayton and Stanford.


Buzz Williams left Marquette to take the
head coaching job at Virginia Tech on Friday. ESPN reported that the school has
already contacted former UCLA coach Ben Howland about the opening. Green Bay’s Brian Wardle
is also considered a candidate. 


UW-Whitewater won its 2nd
NCAA Division Three Men’s Basketball Championship in 3 years with a 75-73 win
over Williams on Saturday night.  The
Warhawks also won the football national title this season.


Sacramento beat the Bucks 124-107 on Sunday night.  OJ Mayo led Milwaukee with 21.  The Bucks take a 7 game losing streak into
tonight’s game against the Clippers.


Matt Garza gave up just 1
run and 4 hits in 6 innings of work as the Brewers beat the Reds 9-1 in Cactus
League play on Sunday.  The Crew takes
today off.  Opening day is one week from
today at Miller Park
when Milwaukee takes on Atlanta


The Badger men’s hockey team
gets a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play North
on Friday in Cincinnati.


Matt Every won the Arnold
Palmer Invite down in Florida
on the PGA Tour, one shot better than Keegan Bradley.  54 hold leader Adam Scott had a final round
76 and finished 3rd.


Kyle Busch won the NASCAR
Sprint Cup race in Fontana.  Kyle Larson was 2nd, Kurt Busch 3rd,
and Matt Kenseth 4th
