The Wisconsin Badger men’s
basketball team clinched at least a share of the Big Ten championship with a
68-61 win over Michigan State at the Kohl Center
on Sunday afternoon.  Frank Kaminsky had
31 points and 8 rebounds. Nigel Hayes added 14. 
The Badgers head to Minnesota
on Thursday.

 

Providence beat Marquette 77-66
on Sunday afternoon out in Rhode
Island
.  Duane
Wilson had 22 and Matt Carlino 21 in a losing effort for the Golden
Eagles.  Marquette
hosts St. John’s
on Wednesday.

 

Paul Casey and Ian Poulter
share the lead at the Honda Classic on the PGA Tour.  Weather has sent the finish to this
morning.  Casey is through 9 holes and
Poulter 7.  Patrick Reed is one shot back
of the leaders through 7.

 

Jimmie Johnson won the NASCAR
Sprint Cup race in Atlanta
on Sunday.  Kevin Harvick was 2nd,
and Dale Earnhardt, Jr 3rdCambridge native Matt Kenseth was 5th and Eau Claire’s Paul Menard
was 13th.

 

The Brewers continue workouts
in Arizona.  Their Cactus League opener is on Thursday
against the LA Angels.  You’ll hear that
game on KFIZ.

 

The WIAA State Individual
Wrestling Tournament wrapped up on Saturday night.  Fond
du Lac
’s Jason Toshner was 2nd at 195
pounds.  In Division Two, Campbellsport’s
Alex Costello was 5th at 113 and Lomira’s Jordan Michel was 4th
at 170.  In D3, Laconia sent three wrestles to the
podium.  At 120 Alec Potter was 6th,
at 150 Zach Coffeen was 5th, and at 195 Eli Moses was 6th.

 

The WIAA Girls Basketball
Tournament has reached the Sectional.  Laconia and Waupun have
both advanced in Division Three. They will face off in Beaver Dam on Thursday
night for a 7pm tip.  In Division Four,
St. Mary’s Springs will face Howards Grove at Fond du Lac High School
on Thursday.  You’ll hear that game on
News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  Coverage begins at
6:30pm with the Tim Cruz Agency American Family Insurance Pregame Show.  The tip is set for 7pm presented by BCI Burke
Company.  The playoffs are brought to you
by Taco Bell.

 

The boys tournament kicks off
on Tuesday.  We will be out at Winnebago
Lutheran where the Vikings will host North Fond du Lac
in Division Three.  Coverage begins at
6:30pm.
