The Brewers took 2 of 3 from the Cubs over the weekend,
including a 5-3 win on Sunday, but that wasn’t enough to save Ron
Roenicke.  Late last night the team
announced that they had fired him.  In
four plus seasons RoenickE was 342-331 and they have an MLB worst 7-18
record.  A press conference is set for
this morning at 10:30am.  Craig Counsell
is expected to named the new skipper.

 

The Dodgers come to town for a four game series that starts
tonight.  Clayton Kershaw will take on
Kyle Lohse in Game 1.  Coverage begins at
5:45pm with the first pitch set for 6:20pm on KFIZ.

Rory McIlroy won the Match Play Championship in Las Vegas, taking down
Gary Woodland 4 & 2 on Sunday. 
McIlroy was the first #1 seed to win the event since Tiger Woods did it
in 2008.

 

Dale Earnhardt, Junior won the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Talladega on Sunday.  Jimmie Johnson was 2nd and Eau Claire’s Paul Menard
was 3rd.  Matt Kenseth was 25th.

 

The Marian baseball team won a share of the NACC
championship with s sweep of Rockford
on Friday night.  The Sabres will host
Maranatha in their regular season finale tonight at 7pm at Herr-Baker
Field.   Marian will head to Mequon for the NACC
Tournament on Thursday when they matchup with Benedictine at 4pm in their 1st
round matchup.

 

Former Fond du Lac High School
soccer coach Greg Winkler was inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Hall
of Fame on Saturday night in Milwaukee.
 Winkler coached boys soccer at Fond du
High School from 1998 to 2014 and the girls from 2006 to 2014.  His overall record was 403-170-47.  Winkler currently coaches girls soccer at George Jenkins
High School in Lakeland, Florida
