Sports – Monday, September 14th, 2015

 The Green Bay Packers won their season opener for the 1st time since 2011 with a 31-23 win atChicago on Sunday afternoon.  Aaron
Rodgers threw for 189 yards and three touchdowns.  Two of those TDs when
to James Jones and the other to Randall Cobb.   Eddie Lacy carried it
19 times for 85 yards and a score.  Matt Forte shredded the Packers
defense for 141 yards and a touchdown.  The Packers will host Seattle next week on Sunday Night Football.

initial Green and Gold Rewind Show on KFIZ.

broke his foot and will miss 4-6 weeks.

ranked #24 in the AP Poll and #23 win the Coaches Poll this week.  Wisconsin
hosts Troy on Saturday at Camp Randall.

Josh Harrison singled home Pedro Florimon in the bottom of the 11th off of Tyler Thorburg as the Pirates
beat the Brewers 7-6 on Sunday.   Khris Davis hit his 20th homer in the loss.   The
Brewers open up a three game series with St. Louis on Tuesday night.

Novak Djokovic won his 2nd U.S. Open men’s tennis title
on Sunday in New York.

 

The Marian men’s golf team won the Marian Invite this weekend.  Junior Ryonen Faris was able to take home the
individual title shooting a second round 74 (+2) to finish one-over par. Concordia, WI
won the women’s event.  Freshman Tayler
Wise led the Sabres and finished the invite in sixth place with a total of 181
(+37).
