The Mets scored a pair of runs in the 8th to beat the Brewers 3-2 in the season finale in New York.  The Brewers 2013 campaign finishes at 74-88 which was good for 4th place in the National League Central.  The Crew did win 10 of their final 15 games.  Pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training on February 15th, 2014.

162 games wasn’t enough to set baseball’s playoff schedule.  We know the Red Sox, Tigers, A’s, Cardinals, Braves and Dodgers are division winners.  Pittsburgh will host Cincinnati in the National Wild Card round on Tuesday.  Cleveland is the top American League Wild Card.  The Rangers and Rays both finished with 91-71 records.  They will play in Texas today.  The winner goes to Cleveland on Wednesday.

Miami’s Henderson Alvarez threw a no-hitter against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon.  The game was scoreless in the bottom of the 9th with Alvarez in the on-deck circle when the winning run scored on a wild pitch.

The Packers sat and watched the NFL on Sunday.   You can talk Packers football tonight at 6pm during In the Huddle with Packers Davon House and David Bakhtiari.    In the NFC North, Detroit stopped Chicago 40-32.  Both teams are now 3-1.  The Vikings notched their first win of the season with a 34-27 win over Pittsburgh in London.  Adrian Peterson ran for 2 TDs and Greg Jennings caught a long TD for the Vikings.    Sunday night football saw New England hold off Atlanta 30-23.  Tonight the Saints host the Dolphins.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 7pm.

Alabama is #1 and Oregon is #2 in both college football polls this week.  The Badgers dropped out of both polls after Saturday night’s loss at Ohio State.  The Badgers do not play this weekend. 

Jimmie Johnson won the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Dover on Sunday.  Dale Earnhardt, Junior was 2nd.  Chase leader Matt Kenseth was 7th and he still holds an 8 point lead over Johnson in the standings.
