The Brewers completed a road sweep of the Pirates with a 10-0 win Sunday afternoon at PNC Park. Johnathan Villar hit a grand slam in the 6th inning and Chris Carter added a long ball and Domingo Santana hit his second home run of the game in the 9th to cement the win. Chase Anderson earned his 8th win of the season, throwing 5 innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just 5 hits. The Brewers open a 3 game set at Miller Park against the Cubs today, an 11:35 am pregame on KFIZ. 

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers clinched a spot in the Midwest League Playoffs with a 6-2 win over Beloit at Pohlman Field in Beloit on Sunday. Wisconsin won the 2nd half division wild card spot for their third playoff appearance in the last five seasons. The Timber Rattlers will play Cedar Rapids in a best of three first round series, game one is Wednesday night in Appleton. 

One day after cutting their roster down to the 53 man limit, the Packers began building their 10 man practice squad. Wide Receiver Geronimo Allison and Linebacker Carl Bradford were among the players added to the squad. The Packers begin preparations for this Sunday’s opener at Jacksonville this week. 

In NASCAR, Martin Truex Junior held off Kevin Harvick to win the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.   


In Golf,  Paul Casey carded a birdie and an eagle over the last three holes for a 5-under 66 and a three-shot lead going into the Labor Day finish at the PGA’s Deutsche Bank Championship. Brian Harman had a 68 to land in second place, one shot ahead of PGA champion Jimmy Walker, Kevin Chappell and Smylie Kaufman.
