High School Football: 

WIAA Division 6 State Semifinals:

Darlington 24, St. Mary’s Springs 20. 

Darlington quarterback Jared Meister connected with Will Schwartz from 19 yards out with 12 seconds left in the game to lift the Redbirds over the Ledgers at Waukesha North High School. Darlington led 3-0 at halftime, but a long kickoff return by Fintan Floyd set up a 25 yard touchdown run by Clay Schueffner to give the Ledgers the lead 6-3 with 10:58 left in the 3rd quarter. The teams traded scores, with Springs taking a 20-17 lead on a Fintan Floyd touchdown run with 2:44 left. After Darlington scored, St. Mary’s Springs had 2 final plays to try for a last second win, but Blake Bauer’s final pass fell incomplete. The Ledgers finish the season 12-1 while Darlington moves on to face Eau Claire Regis in the D6 Title Game on Thursday.
