HS Cross Country:

The North Fond du Lac/Oakfield boys cross country team competed at the Freedom Invite on Friday, placing third out of 15 teams in the Small School division. Brandon Anderson led the way, placing 8th individually with a time of 17:23. Diego Charbonneau placed 11th with a time of 17:25.

The North Fondy/Oakfield girls team was incomplete, but Faith Peebles placed 15th with a time of 22:15 individually.

Marian 3, Mount Mary University 1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-10)

College Men’s Golf:

The Marian Men’s Golf Team finished the first round of the Edgewood Invite in 5th place with a team score of 313. Maxwell Dye and Jake Sherwood paced the Sabres, each shooting a five-over 76 to place in a tie for 12th place.

Wisconsin 59, Utah State 10

–The Badgers trailed 10-0 after one quarter, but scored 59 unanswered points the rest of the way as they routed Utah State Friday night at Camp Randall Stadium. Alex Hornibrook threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Troy Fumagalli led all receivers with five catches for 105 yards and a score. Four different Badger running backs scored in the game, as did defensive back Joe Ferguson who returned an interception 99 yards for a score in the 4th quarter. Wisconsin hosts Florida Atlantic next Saturday, kickoff at 11am from Camp Randall.

–Neil Walker’s first inning home run stood up for the duration of the game as the Brewers took game two of their weekend series against Washington at Miller Park. Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson pitched a gem, giving up just three hits in seven innings while striking out 11. Corey Knebel struck out the side in the 9th to earn his 32nd save of the year. Game three of the series is tonight, Brandon Woodruff gets the start for Milwaukee, while the Nationals send Max Scherzer to the mound. Coverage starts at 5:35, first pitch at 6:10 on KFIZ.
