The Brewers couldn’t quite finish the game last night as they lost to the Mets by a score of 3 to 2.   Carlos Gomez homered and Aramis Ramirez grounded into a fielder’s choice to score Rickie Weeks for the Brewers lone 2 points.  Yovani Gallardo allowed only 4 hits in 7 2/3 innings.  Gallardo retired 12 of his last 13 batters before he was relieved.  The loss broke the Brewers 4 game win streak.  The series continues tonight a the Brewers will send Willy Peralta to the mound.  Coverage begins at 5:35 and as always you can hear that game right here on KFIZ.

Scores around the NL central; the Cubs beat the Cardinals 7 to 6,  the Nationals beat the Reds 4 to 1,  and the Rockies beat the Pirates 8 to 1.

The Cardinals have now lost 4 straight games and Brewer fans hope they continue the slide.  The Brewers have now improved there NL central lead to three games now.  The Pirates have also snuck there way back up into the mix as they both have the same record at 54 and 48, which once again is only 3 games back from the Brewers record of 58 and 46.  The Reds are only six games back and the Cubbies are down there as they are 14.5 games back from the Brewers.

The Packers all moved into there comfy dorms at St. Norbert college yesterday for training camp.  There first practice will be today at 8:20.  On a side note, Clay Mathews has been officially cleared after missing the entire off-season program to repair his twice broken thumb.  It is unclear however how much he will practice right away.  Also, 4 players on defense will not be participating right away, Nick Perry, Mike Neal, Jerel Worthy, and free agent pick up Letroy Guion have not passed there physicals.  We can see the Packers first in action on August 9th against the Tennessee Titans. The first regular season game for the Packers is Thursday September 4th against the Seattle Seahawks as they return to the scene of the infamous Fail Mary.
