The Brewers couldn’t quite complete the come back as the Yankees got the 5 to 3 victory at Miller Park last night.  Scooter Gennett doubled and Mark Reynolds homered for the Brewers in the loss.  The series will continue tonight as C.C. Sabathia takes on Kyle Loshe.  Coverage begins at 5:35 right here on News Talk 1450 KFIZ.  The first pitch is set for 6:10.

Scores around the NL Central last night, Pittsburgh beat St. Louis 6 to 4, Cincinnati beat Colorado 4 to 3, and Atlanta beat the Cubs 3 to 2.

Many Packer fans had the Packers picking Ha Ha Clinton-Dix with the first round pick in the NFL draft.  The Packers did just that.  They drafted Alabama’s 6 foot 1, 208 pound safety with the 21st over-all pick in the draft.  Ha Ha has the ability to play up at the line of scrimmage and drop back into coverage as he has good speed. The Packers used the 53rd pick in the draft to rebuild their receiving corps.  They drafted Fresno State standout Davante Adams in the second round.  Adams is a great possession wide receiver and will compete in jump ball situations.  The Packers then added some beef with the 85th over-all pick.  They drafted Southern Mississippi defensive tackle Khyri Thornton. Thornton, who stands at 6 foot 3 and weighs 304 pounds would add competition and is expected to push B.J. Raji to excel.  The Packer’s final pick of the third round came at the 98th over-all pick.  With that pick they selected 6 foot 4, 257 pound Tight End Richard Rodgers.  Rodgers made a switch from tight-end to wide receiver while at California but he will play tight-end for the Packers.  For 257 pounds, he has great speed.  Also demonstrates very soft hands.  The draft will continue this afternoon.  The Packers have 5 more draft picks.

Wisconsin Badger inside linebacker Chris Borland is welcomed into the NFL.  Borland was selected by the San Francisco 49ers at the 77th over-all pick in the draft.  Borland was 92nd on the ranking of 200 players in the draft.  Defensive back Dezmen Southward was taken by Atlanta in the 2nd round with the 68th overall pick.

The Pacers beat the Wizards 85 to 63 in the Eastern Conference semifinals of the NBA playoffs. Paul George had 23 points and 8 rebounds for the Pacers.

The Thunder beat the Clippers 118 to 112 in the Western Conference.  Kevin Durant had 36 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.

The Rangers avoided elimination as they beat the Penguins 5 to 1 in the NHL playoffs. Derrek Brassard had 2 goals in the victory.

The Wild beat the Blackhawks 4 to 2 in the NHL playoffs.  That series is tied at 2 games a piece.

Through 2 rounds of The Players Championship, Martin Kaymer is ahead at 12 under par. That is good for a 1 shot lead over Jordan Spieth.

NFDL girl’s softball had a double header against KML.  They won both of there games by scores of 7 to 3 and 5 to 4.

Oshkosh North stopped Fondy’s softball team 8-0.

Lomira baseball picked up a win against St. Lawrence 10 to 0 after 5 innings.  Colin Sable pitched a complete game and only surrendered 2 hits.

The FDL boys track team tied for 4th out of 18 teams at the invite at Arrowhead high school.  They finished with 59 total points.
