Ledgers Host Shiocton
St. Mary’s Springs will welcome Shiocton to Fruth Field tonight for a 3rd round Division Six playoff game. The Ledgers beat Shiocton 24-0 in the D6 state championship game at Camp Randall Stadium last season. The Ledgers are a perfect 10-0. Shiocton is 9-1. They were runner-up in the Central Wisconsin Eight Conference to unbeaten Amherst. The Chiefs haven’t given up a point in over a month. Coverage begins tonight at 6:35pm with the Backyard Grill Kickoff Show. The game starts at 7pm and will also stream at kfiz.com. If the Ledgers will they will play either Iowa-Grant or Darlington next weekend at Middleton.

Irish Beat Diener’s Stritch
#23 Notre Dame beat NAIA Division II Cardinal Stritch, which is coached by Fond du Lac Goodirch grad Drew Diener, 70-56 last night in South Bend. The game was tied at 34 at the half. Fond du Lac grad Tony Smit had 3 points, fellow Fondy alum Nick Ford dished out 5 assists and Laconia’s Derek Semenas had 5 points for Stritch.
The Bucks went into Boston and man-handled the Celtics 99-88 on Friday night in their season opener. Brandon Jennings had 21 points, 13 assists and six steals to pace Milwaukee. Tobias Harris added 18 and Monta Ellis 14 as Milwaukee snapped a five game losing streak on opening night. Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 15 points. The Bucks host Cleveland tonight at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Packers look for 4th Straight Win
The Green Bay Packers host Arizona on Sunday at Lambeau Field. A win by the Green and Gold will give them four straight wins and a 6-3 record heading into the bye week. Coverage begins at 10am with the kickoff at Noon on KFIZ.

The Wisconsin Badgers will take today off as they have the bye in the Big Ten this week. UW will travel to Indiana next Saturday. That game kicks off at 11am. You’ll hear it on KFIZ.
The Brewers continue to make adjustments to the back-end of their roster. OF Nyjer Morgan and RHP Kameron Loe refused assignments to Triple-A Nashville and are now free agents. 1B Travis Ishikawa was also outrighted to Nashville. The team also claimed RHP Arcenio Leon off of waivers from Houston.
NYC Marathon Cancelled
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg cancelled the New York Marathon on Friday, yielding to pressure after earlier announcing the race would go on despite the recovery effort from super-storm Sandy. Over 47,000 runners take part in the race annually.
