Girls Volleyball:

Winnebago Lutheran went 3-2 at the Fox Valley Lutheran Invite with wins over Menasha, Iola-Scandinavia and New London and losses to Fox Valley Lutheran and New Holstein. Samantha Bernhard had 25 kills, 16 aces and 5 blocks. Alyssa Lorenz had 14 kills and six blocks. Hailey Becker had 84 assists.

North Fond du Lac went 1-4 at the Ozaukee Invite with a win over Lomira and losses to Milwaukee Reagan, Ozaukee, Kenosha St. Joe’s and Sheboygan Christian.

Laconia went 3-1 at the Berlin Tournament with wins over Cambria-Friesland, Berlin and Columbus and a loss to De Forest. Hailey Bartz totaled 55 assists for the tournament, Haley Rens had seven aces and Taylor VandeBerg recorded 21 kills for the Spartans.

Cross Country:

The North Fond du Lac/Oakfield boys took second place at the Hilltopper Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence Seminary in Mount Calvary. Diego Charbonneau took second place individually with a time of 18:05, Brandon Anderson was ninth with a time of 18:39.

The St. Mary’s Springs boys placed 11th at the Hilltopper Invite, Isaac Shannon took 11th place individually with a time of 18:43. Sam Busse was 13th with a time of 18:51.

The Winnebago Lutheran boys placed 17th at the Hilltopper Invite. Mark Flood placed 79th with a time of 21:59.

Faith Peebles led the way for the North Fondy/Oakfield girls at the Hilltopper Invite placing 29th.

The Winnebago Lutheran girls placed 10th at the Hilltopper Invite, Sarah Niehueser placed 6th individually with a time of 21:37.

Alyssa Babler was the highest finisher for the St. Mary’s Springs girls at the Hilltopper Invite, placing 35th.

Men’s College Golf:

Marian shot a team score of a 329 in the second round at the Midwest Region Classic in Galena, Illinois to finish in 16th place. Jake Sherwood led the Sabres individually with a team-low 77 for the second round and finished the invite in a tie for 31st with a 159.

Women’s College Golf:

Marian shot a team score of a 460 and are in eighth place after day one of the Marian University Invite at Whispering Springs Golf Course. Taylor Lockhart led the Sabres individually with a 106.

–Alex Hornibrook threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns as the Badgers rolled past the Cougars in Provo, Utah. Two of those touchdown tosses went to Quintez Cephus, who had five catches for 54 yards. Freshman running back Jonathan Taylor had another big day, running for 128 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown for Wisconsin. The Badgers are off next Saturday and will host Northwestern on the 30th.

–Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee threw three interceptions, two of them were returned for scores by Northern Illinois as the Huskies pulled the upset in Lincoln.

–Ryan Braun went 3 for 5 with two doubles and a home run, but it wasn’t enough as the Brewers fell to the Marlins at Miller Park on Saturday night. Zach Davies took the loss for Milwaukee, allowing six runs on eight hits in four innings of work. The final game of the series is this afternoon, pregame coverage begins at 12:35, first pitch at 1:10 on KFIZ.
