The WIAA football playoff matchups were announced on Saturday. Here are the games for area teams: 

Division 1: Fond du Lac earned a #2 seed and hosts #7 Milwaukee Washington, Friday at 7pm at Fruth Field

Division 4: Ripon earns a #7 seed and will travel to #2 seed Two Rivers on Friday

Division 5: Winnebago Lutheran earns a #3 seed and will host #6 seed Valders on Friday. Laconia also earns a #3 seed and will host #6 seed Horicon/Hustisford on Friday

Division 6: Saint Mary’s Springs earns a #1 seed and will play #8 seed Manawa on Friday night. The game will be played at North Fond du Lac High School. 

Cross Country: 

East Central Conference Meet: Waupun boys placed 4th overall. Kyle Miller placed 1st overall, while Dylan Pokorny placed 4th. Both Miller and Pokorny earn 1st team all-conference honors. The Waupun Girls placed 4th, with Peyton McGinnis placing 4th individually. McGinnis earned 1st team all-conference honors.

Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran 4, Winnebago Lutheran 2

College Football: 

Big Ten: 

Buckeyes top Bucky in OT. JT Barrett connected with Noah Brown from 7 yards out on the first possession of overtime and the Ohio State defense sacked Alex Hornibrook on 4th & goal on the Badgers’ possession to seal a 30-23 win at Camp Randall Stadium. The Badgers led 16-6 at halftime, but two touchdown runs by Barrett pulled Ohio State ahead 20-16 by early in the 4th quarter. An 11 play, 81 yard drive capped by a 4 yard run by Austin Ramesh put Wisconsin ahead 23-20, but Ohio State tied the game at 23 with 3:57 left on a 31 yard field goal by Tyler Durbin. The Badgers tallied 450 total yards against the Buckeyes defense, including 236 yards rushing. 

Up next for the Badgers is the battle for the Heartland Trophy at Iowa. Pregame next Saturday is 9am, kickoff at 11am on KFIZ

NFL: Packers vs. Cowboys this afternoon at 3:25. Packers Running Back James Starks will be out for the game. The team also announced they cut defensive tackle Brian Price and activated cornerback Demitri Goodson and defensive tackle Mike Pennel from the exempt list. Pregame at 1pm, kickoff at 3:25 on KFIZ

MLB Playoffs: 

American League Championship Series: Cleveland 2, Toronto 1 (Cleveland leads series 2-0)

National League Championship Series: Chicago Cubs 8, LA Dodgers 4. (Chicago leads series 1-0)

NBA Preseason: Bucks fall to Chicago 107-86 at the Bradley Center. Jabari Parker had 21 points, Giannis Antetokounmpo had 14. The Bucks will play at Detroit on Monday night.
