The Wisconsin Badgers recorded their 2nd straight shutout with a 48-0 win over FCS Tennessee Tech on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. Freshman Corey Clements ran for 149 yards and 2 TDs, Melvin Gordon added 140 yards and a TD and James White kicked in 109 yards and a score. The last time Wisconsin shutout two straight foes was 1958. Next week UW heads to Arizona State. The kickoff is set for 9:30pm and you’ll hear it on KFIZ.

The Packers and 49ers square off in the season opener this afternoon. You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com. Coverage begins at 1pm with the kickoff set for 3:25pm.

The Brewers stopped the Cubs 5-3 on Saturday at Wrigley Field as Johnny Hellweg picked up his first Big League win! Jonathan Lucroy drove in a pair. The series wraps up this afternoon.

Carl Edwards win the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Richmond. Matt Kenseth is the #1 seed in the Chase For the Championship. Martin Truex slipped into the playoffs to grab the 12th and final spot.

Losses on the day were to Sun Prairie twice, once in pool play and the we meet up again in the championship game. Wins against Green Bay West, Columbus, Kenosha Christian and Milwaukee Lutheran

Cross Country

The Fond du Lac girls were 9th at the Neenah Invite on Saturday. Megan Buechel was Fondy’s top finisher at 7th place. The Fond du Lac boys were also 9th at the event . Evan Loehr was Fondy’s top finisher at 48th.
