High School Baseball:

St. Mary’s Springs 12, Laconia 0

–Cade Christensen throws a one-hit shutout in the win for Springs. Blake Bauer went 3 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI, Ezra Tucker 2 for 2 with a double.

Boys Golf:

St. Mary’s Springs finished first in division one at the Ledger/Oriole Invite at Rolling Meadows Golf Course on Wednesday. The Ledgers shot a 322 as a team. Owen Ahern led Springs with a 78 and placed 3rd individually, Colin Ahern shot an 80, Ben Hintze and Doyle Kelly each an 82.

Also in D-1 at the Oriole/Ledger Invite, Campbellsport placed 5th and North Fond du Lac 7th.

Winnebago Lutheran takes 2nd place in Division 2 at the Oriole/Ledger Invite at Rolling Meadows. The Vikings shoot 350 as a team. Mason Herkstroeter shoots a 77 to place 2nd individually.

Milwaukee 9, Cincinnati 4

–Jett Bandy went three for four at the plate with a double and 3 RBI as the Brewers completed the three-game sweep of Cincinnati at Miller Park. Wily Peralta improved to 4-1 with the win, he went five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out seven. Milwaukee is off today, and will open a three game weekend series against Atlanta on Friday.

–The Rattlers hit the road to Burlington for a four game series tonight.

NBA:

Washington 103, Atlanta 99

–Bradley Beal scored 27 points, John Wall added 20 points and totaled 14 rebounds as the Wizards took a 3-2 lead in the first round series with Atlanta. Game six is Friday in Atlanta.

Boston 108, Chicago 97

–The Celtics got 24 points apiece from Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley as they took a 3-2 lead in their first round series against the Bulls. Dwayne Wade had 26 for Chicago in the loss. Game six is Friday in Chicago.

Tonight, it’s game six of the Eastern Conference first round series between the Bucks and Toronto Raptors. Toronto took a 3-2 lead in the series with their 118-93 win on Monday and can close out the series with a win tonight as the series shifts back to Milwaukee. The Bucks can force a game seven back in Toronto on Saturday with a win tonight at the Bradley Center. Coverage begins at 5:40 on the Bucks Radio Network, hear the game on KFIZ.

The Packers signed guard Jahri Evans on Wednesday. The 6-foot-4, 318 pound Evans is in his 12th year in the league and played his first eleven seasons with New Orleans. Evans started all 169 regular season games and 10 postseason contests with the Saints and was a six-time pro-bowler and an NFL All-Pro four times.

The NFL Draft begins tonight with the first round held in Philadelphia. The Packers hold the 29th pick of the first round, ahead of Pittsburgh, Atlanta and the New Orleans Saints, who acquired the Patriots pick in the trade that sent Brandin Cooks to New England. Cleveland holds the top pick, with San Francisco, Chicago, Jacksonville and Tennessee rounding out the top five. The first round begins at 7pm.
