The 97th PGA Championship is
underway this morning at Whistling Straits in Haven. It’s the 3rd time the
final major of the year is in the Sheboygan
area.  Vijay Singh won the event in 2004
and Martin Kaymer took the Wanamaker Trophy in 2010.  Defending champ PGA Rory McIlroy, Masters and
U.S. Open winner Jordan Spieth and British Open champ Zach Johnson will tee off
at 1:20pm.   Wisconsin
native Steve Stricker tees off at 12:20pm with Davis Love III and Darren
Clarke.

 

Governor Scott Walker signed
the arena bill into law on Wednesday at the Wisconsin State Fair.  Construction is expected to begin on the new
downtown arena that will house the Milwaukee Bucks in October or November.

 

The NBA released the schedule
for the 2015-16 season, and for the 1st time since 1984 the Bucks will open the
season at home.  Milwaukee
will host the New York Knicks in the season opener on Wednesday, October 28th
at the BMO Harris Bradley
Center
.   The Bucks will also have three games on ESPN
and one on TNT.

 

The Cubs edged the Brewers
3-2 in 10 innings last night at Wrigley Field. 
 The Brewers scored a run in the 9th
on a wild pitch to tie the game but Miguel Montero’s solo blast in the 10th
off of Michael Blazek won it in walk-off style for the Cubs.  Matt Garza settles for the no-decision after
going seven innings, giving up just 2 runs and 3 hits.  Ryan Braun homered in the loss.  The series wraps up this afternoon at
Wrigley.  Coverage begins at 12:45pm on KFIZ.

Seattle’s Hisashi Iwakuma pitched the 4th no-hitter
of the Major League’s this year as the Mariners blanked the Orioles
3-0.  It’s the first no-hitter in the
American League since 2012.

 

The Packers open up their
preseason schedule tonight in New England.  You’ll hear the game on KFIZ. The kickoff is
set for 6:30pm with coverage beginning after Brewers baseball on KFIZ.
