Waupun Legion Baseball hosts this weekend’s 2016 Central Plains DIvision 2 American Legion national tournament. The double elimination tournament gets underway today, and Waupun will play Valley City North Dakota at 7:30 pm this evening.

Padres starter Edwin Jackson pitched seven scoreless innings and helped his own cause with an RBI double in the 7th inning as the Padres routed the Brewers 12-3 in the series finale at Petco Park in San Diego Wednesday. A run-scoring single by Scooter Gennett and a home run from Ryan Braun, both of which came in the 8th inning, were the only runs Milwaukee mustered. Junior Guerra took the loss, he drops to 7-3. The Brewers are off today and open a weekend series in Arizona Friday.

The Packers practiced under the lights once again at Ray NItschke Field Wednesday night. Packers coach Mike McCarthy says he’s happy with his team’s work so far and that the team’s game plan for taking on the Colts in the hall of fame game will be pretty simple. The Packers practice at 6:15 this evening at Ray NItschke Field.
