Strange Story of Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o

A bizarre story broke out of Notre Dame yesterday.  The Heisman Trophy Finalist had talked all season about how he had a girlfriend who was in a car accident and then died of leukemia. Deadspin.com released a story yesterday that the girlfriend never existed and it was a hoax.  Notre Dame says Te’o was a victim of an online scam, while others say that Te’o and his family may have concocted the story to gain sympathy support in his run for the Heisman.  He’ll have to wait and see how this one shakes out.
