South Carolina stopped
Wisconsin 34-24 at the Capital One Bowl in Orlando on New Years Day.  James White and Melvin Gordon combined to
rush for 250 yards, the Badgers did not punt in the game, yet they got beat on
New Year’s Day for the 4th straight time.   Wisconsin’s secondary got picked apart by
Gamecock’s QB Conner Shaw who threw for 3 TDs, ran for 1 and caught a TD pass
in the win.  Wisconsin tried to rally late under backup
Curt Phillips after Joel Stave led the game with a shoulder injury.  The Badgers season ends at 9-4.

A couple of high profile players declared for this Spring’s
NFL Draft. South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowey and Louisville QB Teddy
Bridgewater told said they are going pro.

 

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired former Bears head coach
Lovie Smith to take over their team that went 4-12 under Greg Schiano.

 

The Packers continue to get ready for their playoff game
with the 49ers at Lambeau on Sunday afternoon. 
The temps for the game are expected to be in the single digits.  As of last night over 7,000 tickets remained
for the game.  Per league rules if a game
is not sold out 72 hours prior to kickoff it will be blacked out on you will
not be able to watch it on TV hear in the Fox Valley and Milwaukee area.

 

The Badger men’s basketball team opens up Big Ten play
tonight as they travel to Northwestern. 
Coverage begins at 5pm with the tip at 6pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ

 

The Bucks are out in Utah
tonight.  You’ll hear that after Badger
hoops on KFIZ.  The tip is set for 8pm.
