The path to a new sports and
entertainment venue in downtown Milwaukee
moved one step closer to becoming a reality on Wednesday as the Wisconsin State
Senate approved the deal by a 21-10 vote. 
The project now waits on the State Assembly.

 

The Bucks beat Houston 97-93
in the 1st round of the tournament of the Las Vegas Summer League.
Sean Kilpatrick scored 26 and 1st round pick Rashad Vaughn had 23 in
the win.  Former Wisconsin Badger Sam
Dekker sat out the game for Houston
with a sore back.  The Bucks will play Phoenix today in round
two of the event.

linebacker Vince Biegel is on the watch list for the Lombardi Award.  That is given annually to college football’s
top linebacker.

 

Packers quarterback Aaron
Rodgers was given the award for Best NFL Player at last night’s ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.  He was given the award by Brett Favre. 

 

Brett Favre will be inducted
into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame this weekend.  Lambeau Field is sold out for the event as
fans will watch the ceremony on the big screen. 

 

The Dallas Cowboys have
signed wide receiver Dez Bryant to a five-year, $70 million dollar contract
extension.

 

Golf’s 3rd major
of the season is underway as the 1st round of the British Open has
started.  Jordan Spieth has won The
Masters and U.S. Open and looks for the 3rd leg of the grand slam.
