Carlos Gomez’s three run
homer in the 8th lifted the Brewers to a 6-5 win over the Braves on
Wednesday afternoon at Miller
Park
.  The round tripper was Gomez’s 2nd of
the game.  Khris Davis also homered in
the win as Jeremy Jeffress picked up the win in relief of Mike Fiers.  All-Star Francisco Rodriguez notched his 19th
save of the season with a scoreless 9th. The Brewers take the day
off and then open up a three game set with the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Friday night.

The Milwaukee Bucks will hold
a noon press conference today to officially announce the free agent signing of
power forward Greg Monroe. 

 

Wisconsin Badger offensive
lineman Dan Voltz has been named to the watch list for the Rimington
Award.  That is given annually to college
football’s top center.

 

If the NFL wants to move a
team to Los Angeles
they won’t be able to play at The Rose Bowl while a new stadium is being
built.  The Rose Bowl announced on Wednesday
that they have no interest in being a temporary host for a relocated team,
leaving the LA Coliseum, Dodgers Stadium, and Angels stadiums are other less
attractive options.  The Chargers, Raiders
and Rams could all end up in LA if their own stadium issues are not resolved.

 

A pair of NFL players
reportedly lost fingers in fireworks related accidents last weekend.  Giants All-Pro Defensive lineman Jason
Pierre-Paul and Tampa Bay defensive back C.J. Wilson both reportedly were both
using fireworks and accidents led to losing digits.
