Marquette Sweet 16

The Marquette Golden Eagles play Miami tonight in the East Regional Semifinals in Washington, DC.  It’s the 3rd straight year the Golden Eagles have been in the Sweet 16 but they have never advanced to the Regional Final.  Tonight’s game tips at 6:15pm, central. Syracuse and Indiana will follow the Marquette game in Washington.   In the West Region tonight, Ohio State will play Arizona followed by Wichita State and LaSalle.

 

Bucks Lose

The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Bucks 100-92 on Wednesday night in Philly.  Monta Ellis scored 29 in a losing effort while Brandon Jennings got benched in the 3rd quarter and went scoreless for the first time in his NBA career.  The Bucks host the Lakers tonight.  Coverage begins at 6:40pm on KFIZ.

 

Heat Streak Ends

The Chicago Bulls ended the Miami Heat’s 27 game win streak with 101-97 win at the United Center on Wednesday night.

 

Brewers Baseball

Yovani Gallardo gave up just 2 hits in 6 and 1/3 innings of work as the Brewers beat down the Royals 9-1 on Wednesday.  Alex Gonzalez  homered and drove in 2.  Aramis Ramirez also had a pair of RBI in the win.  Kyle Lohse will see his first action as a Brewer this afternoon.  He’s expected to throw about 50 pitches against the Rockies this afternoon. Brewers Value Going Up

Forbes Magazine has released its annual list of most valuable baseball franchises.  As always the New York Yankees top the list with a value of $2.3 billion dollars.  The Brewers are the 22nd ranked baseball franchise at $562 million dollars.   

 

Wainwright Signs

The St. Louis Cardinals sign pitcher Adam Wainwright to a five-year contract extension worth $97.5 million dollars.
