The Brewers let one get away
last night, falling to the Chicago Cubs 2-1 in 13 innings.  The Brewers had numerous base running
blunders and then couldn’t score with the bases loaded and nobody out in the 12th.
Jimmy Nelson gave up just 5 hits and no runs in 7 and a third innings.  Jeremy Jeffress blew the save in the 9th
sending it to extra innings.  The series
wraps up this afternoon at Junior Guerra takes on Jason Hammel. Coverage begins

UW-Milwaukee
point guard Jordan Johnson is following his former coach to UNLV.  Rob Jeter was hired as an assistant for the
Running Rebels after being fired earlier this year.  After transferring from junior college, he
averaged 12.5 points, 8.1 assists, and 3.6 rebounds for the Panthers.  Johnson is the 3rd player to leave
the program since Jeter’s ouster.

 

The
Packers signed safety Jermaine Whitehead to a contract on Wednesday.  After spending time on the 49ers practice
squad last season, Baltimore
signed him to their 53 man roster for the final month of the season.  Green
Bay
now has six safeties in their offseason camp.

 

Campbellsports’s
Zoe Albert shut down Plymouth
in a 2-1  softball win on Wednesday.  Albert struck out 9 and gave up just 1 run
and three hits to earn the win. Alyssa Muench provided all the offense the
Cougars with need with a two run home run in the 4th.
