The New York Mets are heading
to the World Series after an 8-3 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field on
Wednesday night. That completed a 4 game NLCS sweep.  Lucas Duda homered and drove in 5 runs while
NLCS MVP Daniel Murphy went 4×5 and homered in his 6th straight
playoff game.  The Mets must now wait for
an opponent as the Toronto Blue Jays stayed alive with a 7-1 win over the
Kansas City Royals. Former Brewers Marco Estrada gave up just 1 run and 3 hits
in 7 and two-thirds innings of work. The Royals still lead the best of seven
series 3 games to 2 heading into game 6 on Friday night in Kansas City.

 

The Badgers head to Illinois on
Saturday.  Wisconsin is 5-2 overall and 2-1 in Big Ten
play.  The Illinois is 4-2 overall and 1-1 in league

under way tonight as the San Francisco
49ers host the Seattle Seahawks.

The Milwaukee Bucks have cut
former Wisconsin Badger Marcus Landry. 
The Bucks wrap up their preseason schedule on Friday night in Minnesota.  The regular season opens on Wednesday when
they host the New York Knicks.

football team earned a #1 seed in the WIAA Division One Football Playoffs.  The Cardinals will host #8 seed Milwaukee
Vincent on Friday night at Fruth Field.

Lutheran earned a #4 seed and will host #5 Peshtigo on Friday night.  Also in Division 5, New Holstein gets a #8
seed and will travel to #1 seed and #1 ranked Amherst.

Springs is a #3 seed and will host #6 seed Shiocton on Friday night at North Fond du Lac.
