Giants Take Game 1

Pablo Sandoval hit 3 home runs as the San Francisco Giants beat the Detroit Tigers 8-3 in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night.  Tigers ace Justin Verlander gave up 5 runs on six hits in four innings worth of work to get hung with the loss.  Barry Zito was the winner for San Francisco. Game 2 of the World Series is tonight in San Francisco.

 

 Packers Banged Up

The Packers had 12 players listed on their injury report as they get ready for Sunday’s game with Jacksonville at Lambeau Field.  The list included WR Jordy Nelson and FB John Kuhn with hamstring issues. Donald Driver and Jeff Saturday were listed with neck issues. TJ Lange has a wrist issue. Aaron Rodgers is still bothered by his calf, Jerimichael Finley’s shoulder is still an issue.  Sam Shields and BJ Raji will have the ankle issue, Charles Woodson has the broken collar bone, Greg Jennings his groin injury and Nick Perry the knee issue.  Sunday’s game kicks off at Noon.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.

Bucks Pick Up Options

The Bucks announced Wednesday that they picked up the option on the contracts of Tobias Harris, Larry Sanders, and Ekpe Udoh. 

 

Full NHL Season Not Going To Happen

National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman says that with the on-going labor stoppage, there is no way they can play a full 82 game season even if a settlement is reached. 

 

Islanders Moving To Brooklyn

The New York Islanders are leaving Long Island and heading to Brooklyn.  The team announced on Wednesday that they would move into the new $1-billon dollar Barclays Center, which they will share with the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA.
