The San Francisco Giants won
their 3rd World Series in five years with a 3-2 win over the Royals
in Kansas City
last night.  Madison Bumgarner pitched
the final five innings of scoreless baseball to earn the save and series MVP
honors.  Bumgarner was originally given
the win last night but the official scorer early this morning changed the
winner to Jeremy Affeldt and gave Bumgarner the five inning save. 

 

Kemba Walker hit a game
tying three pointer with 1.6 seconds left and then hit the game winner in OT as
the Charlotte Hornets stung the Bucks 108-106 in the season opener last night
in North Carolina.  The Bucks led by as
many as 24 in the 2nd half and had a 15 point cushion going into the
4th quarter before the wheels fell off.  Walker
finished with a game high 26. Brandon Knight led the Bucks with 22 points, 13
assists and 8 rebounds.  OJ Mayo and
Khris Middleton added 17.  Middleton’s
open 3-pointer at the buzzer rimmed out. Jabari Parker had 10.  The Bucks home opener is Friday night against
Philadelphia

 

The Badger football team is
getting ready for an east coast trip to Rutgers.  It’s the first ever league matchup for the
two schools.  You’ll hear it on
KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 9am with the
kickoff set for 11am.

 

Week 9 of the NFL season
gets going tonight as Carolina host New Orleans.  Coverage begins at 7pm on KFIZ.

Division One.  You’ll hear that game on

Catherine’s.   In Division Six, #1 seed
St. Mary’s Springs hosts #4 seed and Olympian-Packerland Small champ
Algoma.  You’ll hear that one on K107.1

Fond du Lac High School will have a presale for tickets to their playoff
game at Middleton on Friday night.  You
can buy tickets in advance at the Main Office today from 7am to 4pm and Friday
from 7am to Noon.  You will also be able
to buy them at the gate when you get to Middleton if you choose.  They are $4 for adults and students and $1
for kids six and under.
