Sports – Thursday, September 12th, 2013

Marco Estrada threw 5 and 2/3 innings of no hit baseball but the Brewers lost to the Cardinals 5-1 on Wednesday night in St. Louis.  Estrada ended up giving up just 2 hits in 6+ innings before Brandon Kintzler let the flood gates open for 3 runs and three hits in two-thirds of an inning.  The Cardinals win keeps them one game ahead of Pittsburgh in the NL Central.  The series wraps up tonight as Tyler Thornburg takes on Joe Kelly. The Packers got back on the practice field on Wednesday.  Josh Sitton and Jermichael Finley sat out with minor injuries.  Safety Morgan Burnett did return to practice while CB Casey Hayward has been ruled out for Sunday’s game with Washington at Lambeau Field. Coverage begins at 10am on Sunday with the kickoff set for Noon.

 

Week 2 of the NFL season kicks off tonight as New England hosts the NY Jets.  Reports say that Jet QB Mark Sanchez will miss the rest of the season because of a shoulder injury.

 

The Badgers travel to Arizona State on Saturday night.  You’ll hear the game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  The kickoff is set for 9:30pm.
