Sean Halton’s first inning grand slam powered a five run
first and lifted the Brewers to 7-0 win over the Cubs on Wednesday night at Miller Park.  Tyler Thornburg gave up no runs and 2 hits
over six innings to notch the win.  The
series wraps up this afternoon as Kyle Lohse gets the start for Milwaukee.  Coverage begins at 12:35pm on KFIZ.

 

Braun Sighting

Suspended Brewers slugger Ryan Braun paid a visit to the
Brewers clubhouse on Wednesday.  He is
not allowed to play or suit up for the Brewers but is allowed to visit.  Ron Roenicke said there was no formal meeting
with Braun.  Cory Hart, who’s recovering for
a knee injury also stopped by on Wednesday.

 

Baseball Playoffs

The Cardinal now hold a two game lead over Pittsburgh in the NL Central standings.  St. Louis
stopped Colorado 4-3 while the Padres beat Pittsburgh 3-2.  The Reds are still 2.5 games back.  Tampa
Bay rallied for a 4-3 win over Texas to take the Wild
Card lead over the Rangers.  Cleveland is a half game
out of the American League Wild Card race.

 

Packers

The Packers jumped back on the practice field on Wednesday
as they get ready for the Bengals on Sunday in Cincinnati
Eddie Lacy did not practice on Wednesday as he recovers from a
concussion.  James Starks will get the
start on Sunday.  Casey Hayward has
already been ruled out for Sunday’s game.

There was a rare in season NFL trade on Wednesday as the
Cleveland Browns send their leading rusher from last year, Trent Richardson to
the Colts in exchange for a 2014 first round draft pick.

 

Boxing Legend Dies

Former heavyweight boxing champion Ken Norton, Senior has
died.  He was the 2nd man ever
to beat Muhammad Ali. He was 70.

 

High School Soccer on KFIZ

Winnebago Lutheran hosts St. Mary’s Springs tonight in boys
high school soccer action at the Fondy Soccer Complex.  Coverage begins at 6:35pm with the start set
