Sports to Return at UW System Access Campuses in 2021-22

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, along with UW-Green Bay and UW-Stevens Point announced Tuesday that intercollegiate athletics will return to their two-year access campuses in the 2021-22 school year.

The smaller campuses had put sports on hold last year during the pandemic, but a press release says they are “eager to resume sports participation” in the upcoming academic year.

Two-year campuses include:

UW-Oshkosh: Fond du Lac and Fox Cities

UW-Green Bay: Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan

UW-Stevens Point: Marshfield and Wausau

These schools will compete against each other in a newly-created conference, known as the Wisconsin Competitive Sports League. According to the release, schools will also have the “flexibility to schedule contests against other comparable programs both in and out of state.

WCSL member schools will initially offer women’s volleyball, men’s basketball and men’s and women’s tennis in the fall. Officials say they anticipate adding other sports in the future, and that the league will expand to include other UW System schools.
