Monday’s High School Results

Girls Basketball: Sheboygan Lutheran 60, New Holstein 33

The Hierl Insurance High School Team of the Week is the Lomira Wrestling team. The Lions took second place at the Oshkosh On The Water classic over the holiday with 267.5 team points. Adam Kinyon at 285 pounds took 3rd place in the tournament, going 6-1 with five pins, Allan Klink finished 4th at 220 pounds, going 5-2 and Collin Feucht finished 4th at 195, going 4-2.

Sports on the air tonight, a high school basketball doubleheader as Fond du Lac hosts Appleton North. The girls game is first, with tipoff scheduled for 5:40 pm. Boys game will follow around 7 or 7:15. Hear both games on KFIZ.

Bowl Games from Monday:

Cotton Bowl: Wisconsin 24, Western Michigan 16

–Senior quarterback Bart Houston completed 11 of 12 passes for 159 yards, Troy Fumagalli caught 6 passes for 83 yards and a score and Corey Clement rushed 22 times for 71 yards and a touchdown as the Badgers downed Western Michigan in the Cotton Bowl and finished 11-3 on the year.

Outback Bowl: Florida 30, Iowa 3

Rose Bowl: USC 52, Penn State 49 — The Trojans rally from down 49-35 at the start of the 4th quarter and win on a 46 yard field goal as time expires.

Sugar Bowl: Oklahoma 35, Auburn 19

The Badgers Men’s Basketball team climbed in both national polls this week. Wisconsin rose three spots to number 11 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and one spot to number 13 in the Associated Press Top 25. The 12-2 Badgers play at Indiana tonight.  The tip-off time for the Badgers game against Purdue has also been announced for Sunday. The Badgers and Boilermakers will tip at 3:30 pm at the Kohl Center.

NBA: Milwaukee 98, Oklahoma City 94. Giannis Antetokounmpo with 26 points and 10 rebounds, 19 points for Jabari Parker and 15 for Greg Monroe. The Bucks are in New York to face the Knicks tomorrow night.
