Detroit 30, Green Bay 17
–Matthew Stafford threw for 361 yards and two touchdowns to Marvin Jones as the Lions sent the Packers to their third straight loss. The Packers defense surrendered 417 yards of offense to Detroit, who improved to 4-4 on the year. Brett Hundley threw for 245 yards, with no touchdowns and no interceptions, but did run for a score in the fourth quarter. Rookie Jamaal Williams accounted for the Packers’ other touchdown on the night, but that one came on the game’s final play with the Lions up by 20. Randall Cobb had five catches for 58 yards to lead the team in receiving, while Ty Montgomery had five carries for 33 yards to lead the team in rushing. The Packers drop to 4-4 on the year with a short week and a road trip to Chicago this Sunday. Kickoff is at Noon.
Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor was once again named the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Week after his performance in Wisconsin’s road win at Indiana on Saturday. Taylor carried the ball 29 times for 183 yards and a touchdown, topping the 100 yard mark for the sixth time in his freshman season. The award is his fifth career Freshman of the Week honor, tying him for third most in conference history with Penn State’s Christian Hackenberg. Taylor and Hackenberg sit behind only Ohio State’s JT Barrett who had seven honors in 2014, and Illinois’ Nathan Scheelhaase who earned the honor six times in 2010.
Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ received 17 votes for the Associated Press’ Preseason All-America team, but just missed making the five-man team that was released Monday. Headlining the squad was Michigan State’s MIles Bridgers, who averaged 16.9 points per game last year for the Spartans as a freshman and received 61 votes. Also on the All-America selections were Bonzie Colson of Notre Dame, Arizona’s Allonzo Trier, Villanova’s Jalen Brunson and freshman Michael Porter Jr. from Missouri.

–Xavier Munford scored 25 points and hit a buzzer beating three pointer to give the Herd their first franchise win over the Vipers on the road Monday night. Wisconsin travels to Salt Lake City on Wednesday.
