The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association has named some girls basketball players from the area to their all-state teams in their respective divisions.

In Division 4, Laconia senior Caitlyn Tipton was named to the All-State team, while St. Mary’s Springs senior Anja Smith was named honorable mention All-State in Division 4.

In Division 3, Waupun’s Sydney Flier (Fleer) was named honorable mention All-State.

The Wisconsin Badgers had mixed results in the final set of national polls following the conference tournaments. Wisconsin rose a spot to number 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, and fell a spot to number 25 in the Associated Press Top 25. In the AP Poll, Villanova, Gonzaga, Kansas, Arizona and Kentucky make up the top five, with the second five consisting of North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, Oregon and Louisville.

NCAA Tournament tonight:

The First Four begins with two games tonight at Dayton, Ohio.

A pair of 16 seeds from the East Region start with Mount Saint Mary’s playing New Orleans. Then a pair of At-large schools, 11 seeds from the South region as Kansas State takes on Wake Forest.

Women’s College Basketball:

Both Marquette and UW-Green Bay women’s teams have learned their first round matchups for the women’s NCAA tournament. Marquette earned a #5 seed in the Stockton, California regional and will play #12 seed Quinnipiac on Saturday in Coral Gables, Florida. Meanwhile, UW-Green Bay earned a #8 seed in the Lexington, Kentucky regional and will face #9 seed Purdue in South Bend, Indiana on Friday.

NBA: Memphis 113, Milwaukee 93

–Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 18 points to lead Milwaukee in the loss, that halted their win streak at six games. The Bucks continue their west coast road trip Wednesday with a game at the LA Clippers.

–The Brewers scored 24 runs on 24 hits as they routed Seattle in Cactus League play. Keon Broxton went 3 for 3, Kirk Nieuwenhuis 3 for 4 and Manny Pina 3 for 4 in the win. The Brewers face the Cubs this afternoon. Coverage starts at 2:55 on the Brewers Radio Network.
