Track & Field



The Fond du Lac boys place 2nd at the FVA meet held at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh. Noah Tagliapietra takes 1st place in the 1,600 meter, Trey Halfmann wins the triple jump, Andrew Stone wins the shot put to highlight the Cardinal boys’ meet.

The Fond du Lac girls place 5th at the FVA meet at Titan Stadium. Fondy’s Katie Retzlaff takes 1st in the 100 meter hurdles to highlight the Cardinal girls’ meet.

The Flyway Conference Meet at Lomira was postponed to this afternoon due to Monday’s weather. The meet will begin today at 3:30.

Boys Golf:

Eastern Wisconsin Conference:

Chilton and Sheboygan Falls tie in the final EWC Mini-Meet of the season, the tie couldn’t be broken because both teams had fifth player scores of 48. Chilton takes a nine-point lead into Wednesday’s 18-hole EWC Championships. Chilton’s Alex Brandt placed 1st individually with an even par 36 at Monday’s mini-meet.

National League:

San Diego 6, Milwaukee 5 (10 Innings)

–A two-run home run from Hunter Renfroe gave San Diego a walk-off win over Milwaukee in the 10th inning Monday night. Eric Sogard broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the 10th with a solo home run, then Brewers reliever Oliver Drake gave up a single to Erick Aybar and then the homer to Renfroe to end the game. Domingo Santana went 3 for 5 at the plate with a double and 3 RBI in the loss. Game two of the series is tonight, coverage begins at 8:35 on KFIZ.

American League:

NFL:

Packers linebacker Vince Biegel underwent foot surgery recently. The Packers fourth round draft pick underwent surgery last week for the same injury he suffered as a senior at Wisconsin last fall.  After participating in the Packers’ rookie camp last week, he’ll miss the remainder of the offseason and is hopeful of returning in time for the start of training camp on July 27.

NBA:

Eastern Conference Semifinals (Game 7):

Boston 115, Washington 105

–Isaiah Thomas scored 29 points and added 12 assists to lead Boston to a game seven win over Washington and into the Eastern Conference Finals against Cleveland. Game one of the finals is Wednesday in Boston.

NHL:

Eastern Conference Finals (Game 2)

Pittsburgh 1, Ottawa 0

–Series is tied 1-1. Game three is Wednesday in Ottawa.
